Maureen Denise McCormick was born on August 5, 1956 at Woodland Hills, California, the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. The mother of the child was her home, and she was a aspiring stay-at-home-mom. Michael, Dennis, and Kevin are her three oldest brothers. McCormick started singing and performing at an early stage. She also performed for neighborhood kids. At the tender age of six, McCormick won her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley competition. This led her to receive a call from Pat Domigan at the Jack Wormser Agency to inquire whether the girl might like to pursue an employment in the field of entertainment. Her first major role came in 1964, when she starred in a commercial for Mattel's brand new toy "Baby Pattaburp." A year later, McCormick starred in a commercial for"Chatty Catherine," Mattel's newest doll "Chatty Catherine" doll, and she was then cast to perform the show, Wind It up, and It Breaks. McCormick received an audition in 1969 of 1,200 children to become the youngest of three twin daughters in the TV show The Brady Bunch. Florence Henderson and Robert Reed played newlyweds who had a blended household. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick revealed in her 2008 book"Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady & Finding My True Voice that she almost ended her relationship with the fifth season in the company of Barry Williams, her co-star and brother on screen. The time was when she was just 16 years old, and he was 19. "It would have happened," she said, "but the timing was never suitable for us."
